As Iowa ballfields fill with the sounds of summer cheers and the crack of bats, State Treasurer Roby Smith is encouraging Iowa families to think beyond the game and take a step toward a child’s future by opening and investing in an ISave 529 account.“Whether it’s T-ball, soccer, softball or baseball, Iowa parents and families are out there rooting for their kids every day this summer,” said Treasurer Smith.
Wartburg students named to dean’s list
Wartburg College has recognized 501 students on its winter term dean's list. Those honored include Ella Hayden and Alison Newton, of Blairstown.The list honors students who earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or above in at least five course credits during the terms.

Upper Iowa University released its dean’s list for the 2025 spring semester.Chase Wickwire, of Belle Plaine, was among the students that earned a minimum 3.50 grade-point average.

Bohlen among Central spring student-athletes recognized for academic achievement
The American Rivers Conference team announced the spring sports all-academic honorees Friday. 63 Central College student-athletes were honored for their academic and athletic excellence.The men's track and field teams had 20 selections while the women's team had 18. The men's tennis squad lead the league with 11 honorees. Softball had eight honored while the baseball team had four and the men's golf program had two.
Iowa State honors spring graduates
Additions made -Nearly 4,600 graduates received degrees from Iowa State University this spring. Graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremonies were held May 15-17.
